This is a sake brewery with a long history that was inherited from the Makino family, the former feudal lords of Nagaoka.

"Since our founding in 1751 in Echigo-Nagaoka (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture), we have gone through the dramatic changes in history and played a part in the food culture of sake. In 1882, we became the origin of the name "Kashiro". We took over the sake brewery of the Makino family, the lords of the Nagaoka domain, and inherited the family's ``Mitsukashiwa'' emblem and the product name ``Kashiro''. Although the people involved in sake brewing change over time, our company's stance of ``creating delicious sake that pleases many people'' has remained consistent to this day.
